What I miss most about my Dad is his smile and positive attitude. He was a bright spot. He had a gift of making people feel good to be around him. He made being a Christian look fun and not everyone has that! His light for Jesus shone brightly!
Isaiah 60: 19-20, "The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end." No matter what Dad was going through He trusted God and shone His light. His faith always kicked in! He remembered what God had done in his past - since he was a little boy! If spiritual death is when there is no light and no desire for light then Dad was spiritually alive, shining brightly in this broken world.
Matthew 5: 14-15, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." God has put a fire in our heart, not just for us, but to enlighten others who are in darkness. Jesus is the Light of the World. We are to bring Glory to God. Our light should shine so brightly that others want to be lit up! Let's ask God to remove every barrier that blocks His Light from others.
Spread the Son shine wherever you go!
