Change is Hard

Life is full of changes. The only thing about life that remains constant is change! The only thing that remains the same is God. Malachi 3:6, "I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed." God does not change. Psalm 102: 27, the psalmist declares, "But you remain the same, and your years will never end." God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13: 8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." God is a constant!

God understands that change is hard. Ecclesiastes 3: 11, "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." God has designed our lives into beautiful seasons, but there is a time limit on each one. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

Some seasons are wonderful and some seasons require us to grow emotionally, relationally, professionally and spiritually! Sometimes change is painful but life involves change because relationships change, people die, jobs change, finances change, etc. Not only does God stay the same but so does His plans for us. Psalm 33: 11, "But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations." And not just for you and I but for our children, grandchildren and generations to come! Thanks be to God!
