Christmas Crashes 2024

We have spent months preparing for Christmas. We have made (and ate) things that are only made once a year! We have bought and wrapped gifts that have been opened. We have made the big Christmas dinner that is more special than our everyday cooking. Our house guests have left. The anticipation of the big day is a memory.

Some of you are still running on fumes from your Christmas high, others may be glad that this hectic, emotional, and sparkling season is over. And for some this can be a "let down" time. The excitement is gone. The anticipation and presents are gone. The house is suddenly quiet. (That may be a plus!) There is guilt from over indulgence! Guilt over finances spent!

We have months of buildup to Christmas so no wonder when it finally comes and goes, for many people, a post-Christmas slump sets in.

God made us lots of promises to those who believe in Him. Matthew 28: 20, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Hebrews 13: 5, ".. Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” This includes the day after Christmas when you may be experiencing depression or loneliness. Jesus wants us to have peace. John 16: 33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 14: 27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." We can ask Him for peace today and He will give it to us. Let's enjoy His love, hope and joy!

Be encouraged, no matter where you are, no matter how you feel, Jesus cares for you deeply. His presence can fill your heart and lift your spirits. Never forget He promised, "I am with you always, even unto the end of the age." Life is a gift from God so let's move forward as a child of God!
