It's Not Too Early

I think back to being in choir when I was a little girl. I even had my "one and done" solo for my mom on a Mother's day. My grandaddy laughed when we got in the choir because he couldn't hear me! I am thankful that my girls were in choir when they were little.

Evangelism is spreading the good news and that is what children do when they are in choir or Christian musicals. We always invited people to the musicals. The children were always so excited and all of them wanted to be up there the next time! I remember a friend of mine saying that she prays over the children before the musicals. She explains that this is an opportunity to evangelize. You never know who hasn’t gotten to know Jesus Christ and this may be the right time! So they invited relatives, friends, teachers, etc.

These events teach our children how to praise and that is not something they must wait until they’re older to do—it is their joyful task now. When Jesus arrived in the temple, the chief priests were aloof and reproachful, but not the kids. Matthew 21: 15, “But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. Like us, when our children are involved in ministry their faith is being built! God is not calling us, or our children, to go to church but to be the church!
