"She started the year with a simple prayer, 'Lord, lead the way!'" A friend posted this and I love it! As God continues to call me into different types of ministry I am excited and scared! Lord, lead the way! That takes the stress out of it. He will bring the right things to me at the right time. As Pastor Barry says, when it is of God, you don't have to jerk or jump!
We cannot lean on our own knowledge if we want to take the right path. We must look to God for guidance and direction. Proverbs 3: 5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." He is faithful! Isaiah 30: 21, " Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"
When it comes to future plans or decision we must try not to control but to listen for what God wants for us. We must not base our plans on feelings, emotions, the economy or other external circumstances. We must keep focused on God through, prayer, studying His Word and meeting with other Christians. Psalm 32: 8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." He promises to show us the best path for our lives. Psalm 23: 3, "He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." "For His name's sake" means remember Who He is! His name says it all! His leadership sees the big picture, knows right from wrong and good from bad. He chooses the right path for us! Be free from the mental and emotional stress of trying to lead and let the Lord lead the way!
