Voting Victoriously?

Are you tired of the political ads? I am and I am so ready for this election to be over. So many people are passionate about politics now. Many of my family members have fought for that right so I always vote and consider it an honor to vote. Because I have a dear friend running for judge I have been more involved this election doing a meet and greet, putting signs out and working the polls.

Since I worked the polls I have really been thinking about how passionate everyone is about voting and convincing others who they need to follow. I have witnessed some very aggressive behavior! Some people are very bold when it comes to politics! I have no problem with the positive energy but I am turned off by the negative! In the last few years I have never felt or seen passion this strong. But I have to wonder what our family, our neighborhood, our city, our state, our world would be if we had the same amount of passion for Jesus?

According to the internet to vote is a formal expression of opinion or choice, either positive or negative, made by an individual or body of individuals. As you see these ads or as you go vote think about the biggest choice we have to make. We have a choice to make in our lives whether to follow Jesus or not. There is an opponent who also wants you!!

Matthew 12: 30, "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." Luke 11: 23, ""Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." Basically, we are told twice, "you are either for me or against me". No sitting on the fence! You have to make a decision!

There is no way to be neutral about Jesus. He challenges us to decide if we are going to follow and help him or not. Ignoring Him or putting off our decision about Him are not options. We either help and work with him or we oppose him. Do you give more time, energy and passion to politics than Jesus?

Would you consider having a meet and greet for Jesus? A meet and greet is when you bring together a group of people and let them get to know someone. Three girlfriends of mine and I try to get together once a month and answer these two questions: When have I been the closest to Christ? When have I been the farthest from Christ? And what are we doing to grow in our relationship with Him. Mike and I signed up to host a small group in our home during Lenten season last year. We all enjoyed it so much we have stayed together doing different studies. Both of these groups help hold us accountable. They are great ways to get to know Jesus more and build a stronger relationship with him.

While you may not want a sign in your yard you are probably a walking sign. Our walk is more important than our talk. People probably already know what your sign would say. Hopefully, they see you as having a joy that is unexplainable and they want some of what you have!

Polls help to explain important issues that may affect voter's decisions. While I know my friend very well I still had to have my facts in hand to share with other's. Are you ready to work the polls for Jesus? If someone wants that peace you have, are you ready to answer questions about Jesus? Are you ready to tell others what He has done in your life? Do you know which Scripture s you could tell them about?

You do not have to go to a specific place to make your decision. You do not have to go on certain dates. This decision can be made any time any where! And this decision will affect your entire life. Here and for all eternity! We are blessed to already know the outcome! When Christ died for our sins, Satan was disarmed and defeated. Jesus Christ won the victory!

Jesus is calling you to actively follow and serve in His work. It is decision time!
