Weather The Storms

I woke up to thunder, winds and downpours - not sure how I missed that we were having a "hurricane". When I left Mom I told her I would see her in the morning. I couldn't go in these conditions. Several plants had fallen from the wind and were broken. I got ready to let this dark, dreary downpour ruin my day. I decided to do the cleaning chores that rarely get done. Later Mike took me to Mom where I was able to get a lot of writing done while she slept.

Storms can come out of nowhere much like life! But if we look Up we will find the grace to make these dark days meaningful. Sometimes we have to give it our best! Matthew 5: 45, "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." We cannot control external circumstances. We cannot control what others do. We can't control much of what comes our way. But we can control our reaction to it.

We can find comfort in Matthew 7: 26, "The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." This verse is comforting if we build our lives on Christ and His Word. No matter what we feel like, we must look to God because His Word is True! God will give you endurance to stand firm. Trust Him and lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3: 5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Thank God for using this storm to heal, change and refine you.
